Hello, DoggByte
By DoggByte ·
Welcome to my little corner of the internet. Pull up a chair, mind the coffee, and please ignore the sound of me refreshing the page to see if it still works.
It’s time. I’m finally giving my work a proper home of its own: a website with a blog, my products, and a place for the documentation and resources that go with them.
Why my own website?
I could have parked everything on a social platform or a marketplace and called it a day. But then my work would live on a rented page, with someone else’s rules, someone else’s layout, and an algorithm quietly deciding whether anyone ever sees it. No thanks. I’d rather have a place that is mine, and that I can keep honest.
What you won’t find here
This is the part I care about most, so let’s get it out of the way:
- No ads. Not one. Not even a small, tasteful, “you might also like” one.
- No tracking. No analytics, no pixels, no fingerprinting, no cookies, and no requests to third-party servers behind your back. I genuinely don’t know how many of you are here. I’m learning to live with the mystery.
- No scams or tricks. No fake countdown timers, no “only 2 left!”, no pop-ups begging you to stay, and no dark patterns that hide the close button.
- Nothing to sign up for. Read what you want, leave when you want.
If you ever find any of the above on this site, it’s a bug, and I’d like it fixed immediately.
Privacy and security come first
I take privacy and security seriously, and every product I build starts from that philosophy rather than getting it bolted on at the end. It’s not a feature, a premium tier, or a line in a press release. It’s just how I build things.
Big tech threw that philosophy out of the window a long time ago. Your data became the product, and “we value your privacy” became the cheerful banner above the cookie pop-up asking to share it with five hundred partners. I’d like to prove, one small product at a time, that it doesn’t have to work that way.
What you will find
- My products, with the documentation and resources to actually use them, written by the person who built them.
- This blog, where I’ll write about what I’m building, how I’m building it, and what I broke along the way.
- Honestly built software. The code is written by me, a human, with decades of programming experience and the scars to prove it. I do use AI as a helper for refactoring and documentation, a bit like a very fast, very patient colleague. It tidies up and writes things down. I decide what gets built.
Want to follow along? There’s an RSS feed. No account, no email address, no algorithm. Just new posts, when there are new posts.
Stay as long as you like
So, welcome to my site. I hope you enjoy your stay and find what you’re looking for.
